The most efficient food to use at any given time can be determined by looking at the base Attack of the character, with all gear equipped, and then choosing accordingly.

Walk inside that door, and talk to the man at the back right corner. He will give you another cut-scene and then tell you to go back and talk to Entetsu again.
So do that. Then, after talking with Entetsu, go talk with his daughter in the room across the hall.
